Why Us

Strategic Sourcing

We have transformed the way we source botanical raw materials. With the use of technology like DNA fingerprinting, Internet of Things (IOT) and  Blockchain, we have been able to procure better quality herbage at a fair price while ensuring traceability and sustainability. The raw material for all our strategic botanical extracts is now obtained through contract farming and / or in-house cultivation. Due to this structure, we are able to meet exceedingly stringent pesticide, phthalates and heavy metal limits in our extracts. Also having worked with global brands we have an understanding of the Nagoya Protocol and its implications.

Our vertically integrated supply chain is audited and certified by ECOCERT against the FAIR FOR LIFE standard. The FAIR FOR LIFE certification endorses our company’s ethical & sustainable sourcing practices in line with global standards. NESSO continues to apply its learnings to evolve the already established system of traceable, sustainable, transparent & responsible sourcing.

We continue to engage farmers in constructive dialogue around sustainable agriculture practices, and support long-term training programs encouraging the implementation of more efficient soil and land management techniques. Our sourcing approach has helped farmers and farm workers improve their economic stability making the contract farming more attractive and sustainable.

Supply Chain Transformation Case Study

Flowers play an important role in Indian culture. Flowers are extensively used everyday in prayer and celebrations like weddings & festivals. Companies are then left with no choice but to take the leftover quantity from the flower market for fragrance extraction. This presents an inherent problem – no traceability, several layers in supply chain, no fair wage to farmers, poor quality of flowers.

The agronomy team of NESSO successfully transformed the entire supply chain of Tuberose. To overcome the challenges of traditional supply chain, NESSO agronomy team worked on an experimental farm and optimized Tuberose cultivation in order to deliver higher flower yield, higher income to farmers with cleaner agricultural practices.

How NESSO Achieved the Transformation

Slide Selecting the best cultvation locations based on soil analysis. Selecting the right micronutrients, biofertilisers, field yard manures and seed variety. Modern irrigation technologies. Increase in flower
yield per acre.

Slide Traditional weeding practices accounts to >40% of the overall cultivation cost. We introduced customized weeding machine which drastically reduced the weeding cost. NESSO's In-house nursery provided Tuberose bulbs to our contract farmer network. This reduced the farmer's seed procurement cost. Reduction in flower
cultivation cost.

Slide Precise window of flower plucking to retain high fragrance. Fresh flowers supplied directly by the farmers and delicately processed in our unit lead to significantly better product quality and value to our customer.

Increase in extraction yield & product quality.
